HVAC
Heating, cooling and fresh air designed for a tight, modern home, installed on schedule with the rest of the build.
New homes in Greater Victoria are built tight, which makes the heating and ventilation design important. We manage the full HVAC scope on new builds, additions and suites: air-source heat pumps (ducted or ductless), heat recovery or energy recovery ventilators, bathroom and kitchen exhaust, and hot-water heating where the design includes it.
ACAP LTD works with Central Air HVAC, a Greater Victoria heating and cooling company, for system design and installation. ACAP stays your point of contact and schedules the rough-in alongside electrical, plumbing and insulation, so ducts, line sets and electrical supply are in place before the walls are closed.
Heat pumps are now the standard choice for new homes on the south island, and they also provide cooling. Sizing matters: an oversized unit short-cycles and an undersized one will not keep up, so equipment is sized to the actual heat loss of the house rather than a rule of thumb.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do heat pumps work well in Victoria?
Yes. The south island climate is mild, which suits air-source heat pumps. They heat and cool from one system.
Do I need a heat recovery ventilator?
In a tight new home, controlled ventilation is a core part of the design, and an HRV or ERV is the usual way to provide it.
Can you add a heat pump to an existing house?
Yes, as a standalone project or as part of a renovation. Contact us for a free quote.
